This recipe is so easy and super quick to make. Once you have the base ingredients in your cupboard it’s really cheap too! You can customise your veggies, you can even swap out the mock beef for tofu or any other protein of your choice!
What you will need:
- Bok choy
- Onion
- Cabbage
- Green onion
- Mock beef
- Sesame seeds
For the sauce:
- 3 tblsp soy sauce
- 2 tblsp crushed / minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tblsp sugar
- 2 tsp vegan oyster sauce
- 2 tblsp cracked black pepper
- 3 tblsp water to thin
First you want to mix all your sauce ingredients together to start mingling, and add your soy beef or other mock protein to marinate a little.
Stir fry your cabbage, onion and Bok choy in a little sesame oil or vegan butter for about 5 mins or until softened, then take off the heat.
Stir-fry mock beef and sauce for 5 mins, add the green onion for the last few mins to soften, then add all your veggies back in. Stir fry it for another few mins until the sauce has thickened, plate up and garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion.

It’s a really visually stunning dish that you can wow your friends with or just cook up for the evening for a very takeaway style meal. This would be a really good meal for batch cooking too, you could even bulk it out with some carbs such as thick pan fried rice noodles or Hokkien style noodles.
